Färg/colour: Mermaids tears
Material/blend: 29% Merino (mulesing free) and 71% cotton
Lollik is a Danish company and this is the second wrap I try from the brand. MT has a wonderful blend of 29% mulesing free merino and 71% cotton. It’s a heavy wrap weighing about 360gsm. But don’t let the weight fool you, this wrap is densely woven and therefor surprisingly thin. The pattern of Vinger is designed by Danish designer Evalou Hauge and the color of Mermaid Tears is light blue on light gold/beige. The low contrast between the two colors makes the pattern appear discreet and monochrome from a distance but up close you see all the pretty details.
Since this is a size 4 I have mostly used it in a single layer back carry such as ruck and the support is really good. I actually don’t like rucksack carry but as my wrappee is getting bigger we need to use carries that takes about 30 seconds to finish and that is good for many ups and downs. With that being said, I am not that good at ruck but MT is really comfy even in a sloppy wrap job.
It has a lot of stretch and bounce to it and is really soft on the shoulders. And since It’s densely woven there is no bulk even though the gsm is high. It drapes nicely and lays pretty flat on the shoulders. It has a lot of glide and I believe it would be great in DH aswell. Still the Vinger pattern provides enough grip for it to hold a single knot.
The wrap came soft straight from the box so it does not need much of breaking in, though I do think it will be even softer and better with a little more use. Mermaid tears would probably not be my first choice for a newborn but for a toddler or a heavier baby it’s perfect!
